Kate Lindsey, Event Specialist for SEEK holds proven experience across a number of large scale events and she has been attending industry events as a buyer. She shares five tips on how to maximise the time at AIME’2019 refreshed event format:

Keep defined goals-Start with asking questions as what the buyers want to get out of the three-day event, it will help in formulating plan and setting the KPIs. It is always preferred to have clear objectives, it helps in sharpening focus once you land in the exhibition floor be it meeting with the new exhibitor for an annual conference or trying to build a new relationship from a specific region. Observe and share what you are learning with the wider industry apart from maximizing your business potential.

Keeping an open mind-Be curious with what’s on offer and how it will help in achieving your business objectives, making the most of the opportunity available will help in the elevation of your project. Kate shares her experience while organizing a SEEK launch where she was all of a sudden showcased in front of her new peer who wanted to see how differently she would perform from the previous years. Initially she had an  unusual feeling but she could push herself to do everything in a unique way as possible.

Looking for unconventional opportunities-There will be a series of networking events and activities creating a plethora of opportunities that will help in building connections outside the  showroom floor.Unconventional opportunities are those which are out of the pre-scheduled AIME program and has a good scope to showcase what can be offered and building new relationships.

Connection is the key- Over the last three days whatever leads you had worked on try to remain connected with them. You can easily map out your next step by simple housekeeping tips like tidying up your notes and documenting the business leads.

Follow ups is a great way, do it by sending an email or a quick call so that your new contact knows how much you enjoyed meeting them. One can also discuss plans for future business.

Show your presence- Make your personal brand equally important as the company you represent, ensure that the buyers and exhibitors at the exhibition see you in the best possible light.

Taking good care is equally important, remain hydrated, eat and sleep well.
