Gruppo Barletta has been appointed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to manage Rosewood Venice which will open in 2020 as the ultra-luxury brand’s second property and eight in Europe.

Rosewood Venice located in the heart of bustling Cannaregio neighbourhood will be housed within the magnificent fifteen century Palazzo Dona’ Giovannelli. It is closely located with the city’s legendary landmark like the Strada Nova, Piazza San Marco, Basilica di San Marco and Palazzo  Ducale.

The Filippo Calendario constructed this in the mid-1400s , he is the master architect of the stunning Palazzo Ducale, the Palazzo Dona’ Giovannelli which soaked in history. It served as the home of the Duke of Urbino and as the venue for his son’s wedding to Princess Vittoria Franese.

It underwent two renovations the first took place in the 1800s by the famous architect Gian Battista Meduna and the second in the mid 20th century.

Dona’ and Giovannelli families owned the palazzo and it has remained a one-of-a-kind treasure within the heart of Venice.

Rosewood Venice will have approximately 50 guestrooms and suites inspired by the palace’s rich history and it features stunning water views because of its dual canal frontage.

There is a convenient water access to the first internal courtyard and to the octagonal staircase via the hotel’s dramatic main entrance on the Rio di Noale.

The main floor is adorned with breath-taking fresco, stuccos and coffered ceilings, fireplaces and tapestries.

There are two walled courtyards providing an inviting outdoor space for dining and relaxing.

Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group said that it is the one of the most romantic cities in Europe known for its breath-taking architecture and beautiful canals. In the rapidly growing European portfolio  Venice will serve as an ideal location.

Venice is known for history and natural beauty and she was looking forward to provide guests with unrivalled access to its heritage.
