James Hellewell has been appointed as the new chief technology officer of Travelodge.
In his new role he will be responsible for ensuring innovative technology and continue to enhance the customer experience driving the business forward. He will be a member of the group operating board.
He will be reporting to Peter Gowers, Travelodge group chief executive.
Gowers was delighted to welcome James as their new chief technology officer and said that he brings extensive experience in driving digital and multi-site technology improvements in the existing customer environments.
His retail background will be invaluable and they will continue with their ongoing drive to strengthen customer service and productivity.
Hellewell earlier worked as the chief information officer and transformation director of Jack Wills.
Here he was heading a multi-year transformation of digital and in-store technology platforms, improving customer functionality and delivering low-cost solutions along with strengthening information security.
He also worked as a senior technology and programme management with Selfridges, the Home Retail Group, Carphone Warehouse and BUPA Australia.
Hellewell was excited to join and was very eager to start off with the new team. Travelodge has more than a million visits and more than 12 million check-ins there was a potential to drive further growth.
