During the first day of IBTM World taking place in Barcelona the IBTM World Trends Watch Report was revealed with a forecast on the Virtual Experience Economy which will be the next big area of growth for the MICE sector.
The future of meetings is fully analyzed in the report which further explored the progression of the experience economy and considers how far it will change the meetings and events landscape and the new opportunities that it will bring.
The new trend will focus on the creation of an entirely new industry which will see ‘digital’ and ‘experience’ merge. More new technologies will integrate into the existing events.
The report also asses the major global issues along with an evaluation what one can do as an industry to contribute positively to the solution.
Alistar Turner, the report author mentioned that the report was aimed at taking short and medium term look at the global meetings and events industry and the political, economic and geographical trends that will affect it.
A major long –term trend, the Virtual Experience Economy can be influential as the Experience Economy was before it.
