Maxine Rowland has been promoted by the Blue Ray Travel to the newly created role of managing director with plans of boosting the turnover by a third in 2018.
Rowland holds an experience of 30 years , she started off as a trainee and was with the Stoke-based agency since 2012.
Earlier in February Blue Bay bagged £6.5 million cash from investment firm LDC and is poised to grow.
Rowland was previously hired as regional manager and commercial manager for the Co-operative Travel Trading Group.
At Blue Bay she started with the role of project manager and progressed to head of sales and marketing and head of commercial development and was the general manager in November 2016.
Rowland said that when she had joined they were a team of 30 people and now it has grown to 75. The company plans to expand the sales team as customers want to know more about the long-haul product.
She wants to grow the Blue Bay and its core territories of the Caribbean and Mexico, she expects the £40 million turnover, it was £30 million last year.
