florenceParts of the U.S. are severely hit by the outer bands of Hurricane Florence  and the storm are moving towards land with maximum sustained wind speeds of 90 mph.

The officials have warned of life-threatening storm heading towards the North and South Carolina. So far 100,00 homes are left without electricity and the weather condition seems to worsen with the storm having the potential of killing a lot of people along with catastrophic flooding.

There was an order for evacuation of more than one million people along the coastlines of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia while thousands took shelter in emerging facilities.

The wind speeds rose in coastal areas and the conditions deteriorated on Thursday, in parts of North Carolina sea levels began to surge and there were almost a foot of rain.

The National Hurricane Centre reported that the wind speeds went down making it a category one hurricane.

Even though the wind strength was gradually lowered the storm was still dangerous because of high volume of rainfall and storm surges predicted.

Fema administrator Brock Long stated that inland flooding kills a lot of people living near rivers, streams and lowlands were at risk.

After a copious amount of rain in the coast the storm slows at a near standstill  and by Saturday the wind speeds are expected to weaken.

The floodwaters may rise up to 13 ft as some areas due to some rivers saw their flows getting reversed.
