The TIEWN Conference, spanning two interactive days, seeks to address the existing disparities in the global travel industry. Despite women influencing 80% to 85% of travel decisions and constituting two-thirds of global travelers, they make up only 54% of the industry workforce valued at $2 trillion. The managerial landscape reflects a mere 20% of women in leadership roles, with a meager 8% in high-level positions. The gender pay gap further exacerbates the situation, standing at 2% and 1% in the travel and hospitality sectors, respectively, as per the 2023 Gender Pay Gap Report. Tackling these issues, the TIEWN event aims to celebrate the potential of women in the field, especially considering the rebound of global tourism to nearly 90% of pre-pandemic levels.
“We, as pioneers, innovators, and leaders in the travel industry, acknowledge that our journey involves not just adapting to change but actively reclaiming our roles and contributions in tourism and hospitality, fully embracing our power.” – Ariela Kiradjian, Co-Founder of TIEWN
Focused on empowering women for workplace success, the 2024 TIEWN event will cover a range of topics in its agenda, including technology, business and personal financial well-being, mentorship, capital raising, self-growth, and tools for mutual mentorship along career paths.
