2017 saw the boost in Australia tourism by Chinese and New Zealand tourists

The international visitors travelling in Australia is boosted by the tourists from New Zealand and China, making a great economic and workforce development in Australia.

 

The international visitors spent $40.6bn last financial year and were served by a tourism industry that employs 580,200 people, 5% of the country’s total workforce.

 

 

The government of Australia estimates that, for every dollar generated by the tourism industry, a further 90 % is spent elsewhere in the economy. New Zealand provided the most visitors, though Austrade which is expecting it will be overtaken by second-placed China this year.

 

 

Now the Tourism Australia launched a major advertising campaign in the US during the Super Bowl based on the Crocodile Dundee movie franchise, to attract more tourists from United States. Starring actors Chris Hemsworth and Danny McBride, the campaign emphasises Australia’s natural beauty and its wildlife.

 

 

The growth of Australian tourism industry has made tourism Australia’s second-largest export after iron ore.

 

 

Australia Tourism is a significantly a larger employer than coalmining or oil and gas extraction, which in 2014-15 employed 39,000 and 22,000 people respectively.

 

The hotels, resorts, airlines and zoos in Australia have taken steps to cut pollution to increase the responsible and sustainable tourism development.
