USA Travel is set to witness a major cruise expansion as Margaritaville at Sea prepares to launch its new Beachcomber ship from Galveston in 2027, bringing fresh Caribbean and Mexico cruise adventures to travellers from Texas. The new vessel will offer four- to seven-night journeys featuring popular destinations such as Cozumel, Belize, Aruba, Curaçao, Grand Cayman and a new Veracruz sailing option, while introducing the cruise line’s largest collection of onboard experiences to date. With new entertainment venues, exclusive attractions and expanded regional itineraries, Beachcomber is expected to strengthen Galveston’s position as a key departure point for Caribbean cruise holidays.

Margaritaville at Sea is preparing to expand its presence in Texas, with its newest ship, Beachcomber, scheduled to begin sailing from Galveston in October 2027. The deployment will introduce a broad selection of Caribbean and Mexican cruise itineraries from the Gulf Coast port, giving travellers more options for shorter regional holidays as well as longer voyages.

Bookings have already opened for Beachcomber’s Galveston programme. The ship will operate cruises ranging from four to seven nights, creating options for travellers looking for both compact escapes and extended itineraries from Texas.

The new programme will connect Galveston with a wide range of destinations across Mexico and the Caribbean. Planned ports of call include Aruba, Key West, Curaçao, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Belize, Progreso, Roatán, Cozumel, Grand Bahama Island and Bimini.

One of the most notable additions will be Veracruz in Mexico. The destination will become a new cruise option from Galveston as part of the Beachcomber deployment, expanding the variety of Mexican ports available to passengers sailing from the Texas coast.

Before moving to Galveston, Beachcomber is expected to make its debut in Miami in early 2027. Its later transfer to Texas will give Margaritaville at Sea an opportunity to introduce its newest onboard product to another major US cruise market within the ship’s first year of operation.

Beachcomber Expands Margaritaville at Sea’s Onboard Offering

Beachcomber is being developed with the largest collection of onboard experiences introduced by Margaritaville at Sea to date. More than 15 new concepts are being created specifically for the ship, significantly increasing the range of entertainment, dining and leisure choices available during its cruises.

These new venues will operate alongside several established Margaritaville at Sea concepts already familiar to guests.

Returning experiences will include 5 o’Clock Somewhere, Hemisphere Dancer, Cheeseburger in Paradise and License to Chill. Their inclusion will maintain elements associated with the cruise brand while the new ship introduces additional spaces and entertainment designed specifically for Beachcomber.

The combination of established venues and more than 15 ship-exclusive concepts is expected to distinguish Beachcomber from earlier vessels in the Margaritaville at Sea fleet.

New Live Music Venue Targets the Texas Cruise Market

Among Beachcomber’s new concepts will be Same Boat, a dedicated live-music venue developed in collaboration with three-time Grammy Award winner Zac Brown.

The venue has been designed around a concert-style atmosphere, bringing live entertainment together with a dedicated cocktail offering and an interior influenced by Brown’s musical background and creative identity.

Rather than functioning only as a conventional shipboard performance space, Same Boat will form part of Beachcomber’s wider emphasis on entertainment-led experiences. Live performers will appear at the venue throughout its sailing programme.

The entertainment roster is also being developed with the Texas market in mind, supporting the ship’s long-term deployment from Galveston.

The addition strengthens the musical component of Beachcomber’s onboard proposition and gives passengers another entertainment option during days and evenings at sea.

Galveston Gains a Broader Range of Cruise Destinations

Beachcomber’s arrival will further expand the range of international destinations accessible directly from Galveston.

Its four- to seven-night structure will allow itineraries to cover different parts of the Caribbean and Mexico while accommodating travellers with varying holiday schedules.

Popular Mexican cruise destinations such as Cozumel and Progreso will feature alongside ports including Belize and Roatán in the western Caribbean. Other voyages will extend towards destinations such as Grand Cayman and Montego Bay.

Longer itineraries will provide opportunities to reach destinations farther across the Caribbean, including Aruba and Curaçao.

Bimini and Grand Bahama Island will add Bahamian destinations to the programme, while Key West will provide a US port option on selected itineraries.

The inclusion of Veracruz is particularly significant because it broadens the Mexican destination mix beyond the ports already commonly served from the Texas cruise market.

Margaritaville at Sea’s Beachcomber will transform USA Travel from Galveston in 2027 by offering new Caribbean and Mexico cruise experiences, expanded destinations and innovative onboard entertainment for travellers.

Beachcomber Prepares for a Major 2027 Expansion

The ship’s planned introduction represents an important expansion of Margaritaville at Sea’s cruise product.

Beachcomber will first enter service from Miami in early 2027 before beginning its Galveston operation in October. The two deployments will expose the new vessel to major cruise markets in both Florida and Texas during its launch year.

For passengers departing from Galveston, the ship will bring together new destination choices, multiple cruise lengths and a considerably expanded onboard entertainment portfolio.

More than 15 Beachcomber-specific experiences, combined with familiar Margaritaville venues, will form the core of the shipboard offering.

The planned deployment will also strengthen the variety of Caribbean and Mexican voyages available from Galveston. With sailings covering destinations from Cozumel and Veracruz to Aruba, Curaçao, Jamaica and the Bahamas, Beachcomber is positioned to offer travellers a wide geographical choice without requiring a departure from Florida.

Bookings are already available ahead of the ship’s October 2027 Galveston debut, marking the beginning of Margaritaville at Sea’s next major expansion from the Texas Gulf Coast.
