In a significant development, JetBlue announces a prepayment to Spirit shareholders amid ongoing merger proceedings.
In accordance with the Agreement and Plan of Merger inked on July 28, 2022 (referred to as the “Merger Agreement”), involving JetBlue Airways Corporation (“JetBlue”) (NASDAQ: JBLU), Sundown Acquisition Corp., and Spirit Airlines, Inc. (“Spirit”) (NYSE: SAVE), JetBlue has designated February 23, 2024, as the official record date for the February 2024 prepayment to Spirit shareholders, amounting to $0.10 per Spirit share (termed as the “February 2024 Additional Prepayment”). The disbursement of the February 2024 Additional Prepayment is scheduled for February 29, 2024. As per the provisions of the Merger Agreement, individuals holding Spirit shares as of the February 23, 2024, record date will be eligible to receive the February 2024 Additional Prepayment.
