Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Miami International Airport officials, together with AAR CORP., a prominent provider of aviation services, marked the commencement of construction for AAR’s new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at MIA.
Over 100 attendees commemorated the event, with Mayor Levine Cava, MIA Director and CEO Ralph Cutié, and AAR’s Chairman, President, and CEO John M. Holmes expressing gratitude for the collaborative efforts enabling this expansion.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, : “As a leader in international passengers and cargo, MIA is one of the busiest and best mega airports in the country – and AAR’s significant infrastructure investment only advances our local aviation industry. This expansion will strengthen the robust training and repair programs AAR is known for and bring more than 200 new jobs to Miami-Dade County.”
AAR is building a new 114,000-square-foot facility next to its current hangar at MIA. This expansion will increase maintenance capacity by 33% and create over 200 jobs. Miami-Dade County will reimburse the construction cost, with the facility expected to be operational by October 2025.
