Aeromedic lands exclusive three-year deal as official medical kit provider for easyJet

AMETEK MRO AEM, a prominent provider of aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, has recently finalized a 3-year agreement to offer comprehensive refurbishment services for easyJet’s first aid kits (FAKs) and supplementary medical kits (SMKs) across its A320 family aircraft fleet. The specialized Aeromedic division of the company will leverage its expertise in CAA/EASA regulatory approvals to advise on kit contents, while also sharing best practices for efficient kit management based on its proven track record of delivering professional services to global airlines.

The refurbishment operations will take place at AEM’s Luton facility, where Aeromedic utilizes custom kit processing software to meticulously track the expiry date and batch number of each individual component in every kit. This precision allows Aeromedic to recall any product at any time from among the 65,000 parts within easyJet’s first aid kits. Anticipated annual refurbishment needs include approximately 1,100 FAKs and 2,000 SMKs. In the event that a kit is opened and its contents are used on an aircraft, it is returned to Aeromedic through the scheduled weekly delivery/collection shuttle for replenishment before being released back into service. The company emphasizes the importance of recycling, ensuring that items with sufficient shelf life remain in the kits as they undergo repacking.

Steven Rowley, Engineering Director of AEM, expressed satisfaction with Aeromedic’s success in securing the easyJet contract, citing it as a testament to their dedication to exceptional product delivery and service. He highlighted that this achievement solidifies Aeromedic’s leadership position in the highly regulated product category, showcasing their support for easyJet’s ongoing commitment to passenger safety aboard their aircraft.
