Patricia Affonso-Dass has joined as the new president of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association.
During the organisation’s annual general meeting the regional trade association’s outgoing president Karolin Troubetzkoy will be handing over the gavel to Affonso-Dass.
Dass thanked Troubetzkoy for selfless efforts in leading the association. Grenadian hotelier Royston Hopkin congratulated Dass on her steady leadership.
Affonso-Dass will be serving both as chair of CHTA as well as of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association Educational Foundation.
Affonso-Dass is a graduate of Florida International University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. She was born in Roseau, Dominica and lived in Trinidad and Antigua before moving to Guyana.
She has been staying in Barbados for the past 20 years.
Affonso-Dass has been the president of both the Tourism & Hospitality Association of Guyana and the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association. She also runs the Ocean Hotels group, a family-owned company with three unique hotels on the south coast of Barbados.
For the next two years she will work as the president of the association.
