AGTech Holdings, the owner of Macau-based mobile payment platform MPay, announced that revenue soared by 36.1% year-on-year to HK$369.4 million (approximately US$47.5 million) for the six months ended September 30, 2025. It was partly driven by the rebound of Macau’s tourism sector; tourism began to surge after two rounds of consumption vouchers were issued by the government in an attempt to boost spending within the region.
Revenue growth underlines how digital payments and government-supported initiatives, such as the Community Consumption Grand Prize 2025, have supported the Macau economy and tourism-driven sectors. The latter is a voucher incentive program that has encouraged local spending, especially on weekends, and brought in more tourists; therefore, driving demand for payment services like MPay.

AGTech’s digital payment and related services, including the Macau Pass, which is a local stored-value card, saw a 7.3% increase in revenue year-on-year, reaching HK$148.3 million during the reporting period. The surge in demand for payment services was driven by higher local spending, increased tourism arrivals, and targeted promotions under government initiatives.
With the continued recovery of Macau’s tourism sector, AGTech’s digital services have benefited from increased adoption by both local residents and tourists using MPay to make purchases at a variety of retail outlets and tourist attractions. This growth also underscores the tourism impact of MPay as a critical service that enhances the visitor experience by allowing tourists to make seamless transactions while exploring Macau.

One of the key contributors to AGTech’s revenue growth was the substantial rise in interest income from its banking operations, which include loans to individuals and enterprises through Ant Bank (Macao). Interest income surged to HK$70.8 million, a dramatic increase from HK$5.4 million in the same period last year. This growth is largely attributed to the bank’s expanded offerings and increased deposit and loan volumes.
The banking sector’s growth aligns with the broader trend of digital banking gaining momentum in Macau, where the demand for financial services continues to rise, particularly with an increasing number of mainland Chinese visitors and local customers seeking convenient, digital-first solutions.

MPay has made substantial progress in its efforts to expand cross-border payment services, catering to international travelers. MPay now boasts about 1.6 million registered users and has successfully extended its service to over 10 countries and regions, including Hong Kong and mainland China. The platform has become a significant player in cross-border mobile payments, with 42% more users utilizing the service for payments while in Macau compared to last year.
Cross-border transactions via MPay have grown by 85%, with total spending increasing by 88%. This growth in cross-border payments reflects the rising demand for seamless payment solutions for tourists and travelers who wish to use their native e-wallets when visiting Macau. This makes MPay a critical facilitator of tourism exchange between China, Hong Kong, and Macau, as well as other key Asian and global markets.
The expansion of Ant Bank (Macao) has also been a key driver of AGTech’s growth, particularly in attracting mainland Chinese visitors who have become an increasingly important segment of Macau’s tourism market. The bank launched its first self-service facility in October 2025 to enhance customer trust and provide greater access to services for both local residents and tourists.
The bank’s growth is significant, with the number of customers increasing by 97% year-on-year, while deposit volumes surged by 290% and loan volumes increased by 101%. These figures reflect the expanding role of digital banking in Macau’s financial landscape and underscore AGTech’s role in supporting the tourism industry by providing essential financial services to visitors from mainland China and other regions.
The expansion of MPay and Ant Bank (Macao) plays a significant role in the tourism economy of Macau. As the region continues to recover from the effects of the pandemic, the integration of mobile payments and digital banking into the tourism experience is becoming increasingly important. The ability for visitors, particularly from China, to use their native e-wallets in Macau facilitates smooth transactions, boosting the overall tourism experience and increasing spending at local businesses.
MPay’s growth in cross-border payments not only enhances the tourism infrastructure in Macau but also encourages repeat visits by providing an efficient and seamless financial service. The increase in interest income and customer growth at Ant Bank also supports the region’s broader economic recovery, particularly as Macau works to strengthen its position as a tourism hub in Southeast Asia.
As Macau’s tourism continues to grow, AGTech is well-positioned to capitalize on the expanding demand for cross-border payment solutions and digital banking services. The company’s continued focus on innovation and user engagement will help MPay and Ant Bank meet the increasing needs of international visitors, especially from mainland China.
The tourism impact of AGTech’s services will be increasingly significant as cross-border mobile payments become the norm for tourists visiting Macau. With more visitors seeking convenient, digital-first solutions, AGTech’s role in providing these services will continue to support Macau’s tourism infrastructure and local economy, helping to create a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable tourism sector.
AGTech Holdings is contributing significantly to the development of Macau’s tourism sector with its mobile payment solutions and digital banking services. The company’s growth, powered by MPay and Ant Bank-Macao, underlines the rising demand for seamless payment solutions and financial services that power both tourists’ experiences and local businesses. With Macau’s tourism economy continuing on its road to recovery, AGTech’s innovations in cross-border payment and banking will constitute one of the key drivers of future economic growth and tourism success for the region. With AGTech’s technological intervention, connectivity and sustainability form a close circuit for tourists and local business people alike.
