The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) 2024 has once again positioned itself as the leading light of the travel and meetings industry, following a stunningly successful edition that saw business dealings estimated to surpass $330 million over the coming year—a staggering 65% growth compared to 2023.

Such an impressive figure not only underscores the event’s vital role in facilitating business within the travel and tourism sectors but also its continued ascendancy in the global meetings industry landscape.

This year’s AIME was the largest in ten years, marking a significant milestone with over 570 exhibitors, 595 hosted buyers, and an astonishing 17,000 meetings taking place over two days. The event’s allure drew in more than 4,000 attendees, including 70 media representatives from across the globe, resulting in more than 89,500 connections made, illustrating the event’s unmatched scale and impact on the travel industry news.

The post-show analysis brought to light the immense satisfaction among participants, with over 90% of exhibitors and visitors expressing contentment with their attendance. This feedback propels AIME into the elite top 10% of global trade shows, both in terms of exhibitor and visitor satisfaction—a testament to its premier status within the travel and tourism news circuits.

A significant highlight from this year’s event was the debut of The Boutique—a dedicated zone for the world’s boutique experience makers—and the DMC Network, showcasing Destination Management Companies from around the globe. These initiatives were warmly received, adding to AIME’s reputation for fostering innovation and creativity in the travel and tourism industry.

AIME 2024 saw its third consecutive year under the stewardship of Event Director Silke Calder and her team at Talk2 Media and Events, in collaboration with the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB). Together, they have steered AIME to new heights, emphasizing the importance of meticulously vetting hosted buyers and leveraging an AI-powered meeting matching platform to ensure productive connections—a formula that has proven successful in cementing AIME’s status as a cornerstone event in the international business events community.

As AIME plans its return for 2025, the travel and tourism industry watches eagerly, anticipating another year of groundbreaking achievements and connections that drive the industry forward.
