A Complete Overhaul for Air Canada Rouge

Air Canada has committed to transitioning its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft from the mainline fleet to Air Canada Rouge by 2026. The updated cabins will include 12 Business Class seats, 18 Preferred extra legroom Economy seats, and 147 Standard Economy seats, all with reclining capabilities and personal on-demand entertainment. Aeroplan members will also enjoy access to complimentary Fast, Free Wi-Fi. To support this transition, Air Canada will establish a new Rouge crew base in Vancouver, giving Western Canadian travelers more options when flying for leisure.

Mainline Fleet Upgrades

Air Canada’s Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft are also undergoing major upgrades to match the airline’s latest standards. These planes will feature new seating, improved in-flight entertainment systems, and upgraded Wi-Fi, ensuring a more modern and comfortable flying experience. Expanding the Airbus A220 Fleet

Air Canada is continuing to grow its Airbus A220 fleet, a key component of the airline’s modernization strategy. The A220 is known for its impressive comfort, advanced technology, and efficiency, making it one of the most popular aircraft in the airline’s fleet. Air Canada has placed an order for 26 additional Airbus A220-300s, with the new aircraft set to feature larger overhead bins and the updated design standard. The first of these aircraft will be delivered in March 2026, further elevating the in-flight experience for passengers.

Upgrades for Air Canada Express

The enhancements are not limited to the mainline and Rouge fleets. Air Canada Express, operated by Jazz, is also undergoing significant upgrades. Aircraft like the Embraer E175 and Mitsubishi CRJ-900 will receive the airline’s new cabin standards starting in 2026. As part of the upgrade, the airline is rolling out next-generation Fast, Free Wi-Fi, with 55% of the fleet already completed. Air Canada is also refurbishing 25 De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft, which will receive new seating, updated interiors, and Wi-Fi improvements. These changes will improve the regional travel experience, particularly for passengers flying out of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

Complimentary Onboard Offerings

To further elevate the onboard experience, Air Canada is introducing complimentary beer, wine, and premium snacks on all flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, and Air Canada Express (Jazz) within North America. Travelers can enjoy Canadian-made snacks such as MadeGood Morning Bars on early flights, TWIGZ seasoned pretzels, and Leclerc Célébration cookies, along with a selection of complimentary beverages. This initiative ensures that passengers not only enjoy enhanced comfort but also a more delightful in-flight experience.

A Network with Global Reach

Air Canada offers a vast network of destinations, including major cities such as Calgary, Halifax, Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver, as well as convenient connections to the U.S., Caribbean, South America, and Mexico. The airline also provides passengers traveling to the U.S. with the benefit of U.S. Customs preclearance, allowing them to complete immigration and customs procedures before departure. This service ensures that passengers arrive in the U.S. as domestic travelers, speeding up their arrival process.

Air Canada is launching a groundbreaking multi-year cabin overhaul to transform the passenger experience with upgraded interiors, fast Wi-Fi, and enhanced comfort across its entire fleet. This ambitious initiative is designed to ensure a consistent, modern, and connected travel experience for every customer, whether flying for business or leisure.

With this major investment in cabin upgrades, Air Canada is enhancing its service offerings and reaffirming its commitment to providing an exceptional travel experience.
