AirAsia debuts Don Mueang-Shanghai and Kaohsiung routes with special offers

AirAsia is thrilled to announce the launch of two new flight routes: from Don Mueang to Shanghai, operating five times a week, and from Don Mueang to Kaohsiung, with four weekly flights. In celebration of these new services, AirAsia, in collaboration with Don Mueang Airport, hosted a special event to welcome passengers from both cities. The inaugural flights attracted significant interest, achieving impressive occupancy rates exceeding 95%.

The Bangkok (Don Mueang)-Shanghai route, flown by Thai AirAsia (FD), offers a cost-effective and convenient alternative to the Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi)-Shanghai flights, which are operated by Thai AirAsia X (XJ).

Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Thailand, who arrived on the inaugural flight from Kaohsiung, remarked: “The city of Kaohsiung is a key destination with attractions for both art and spiritual travelers. The destination is a charming and unique place that is easy to navigate with many convenient facilities including its high speed train service. It took a lot of hard work for AirAsia to finally inteoduce Don Mueang-Kaohsiung and we are confident it will become a popular new destination for Thai tourists while also bringing in visitors to the Kingdom.”l

I had the opportunity to travel to Kaohsiung and work with the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Taipei Office to greet passengers at the airport before they departed for Thailand and we will continue to build publicity and promotion on both sides of regions to further strengthen the route” Mr. Santisuk said.
