AirAsia Malaysia marks a significant step in its growth plan by launching its first-ever flight to Perth, Australia. This inaugural journey was completed using AirAsia’s state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo, taking off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 2) at 2:10 PM and touching down at Perth International Airport at 7:50 PM local time, with the flight operating at near full capacity (95%). Passengers of flight AK604 were greeted with a festive farewell by the AirAsia team, receiving goodie bags filled with exclusive merchandise as they boarded.
Starting from today, AirAsia will offer passengers enhanced connectivity to the capital of Western Australia with the number of weekly flights doubling from seven to 14, providing even more affordable travel options. This move to expand service to Perth underscores AirAsia’s ongoing mission to make air travel more accessible to a broader audience, reinforcing its reputation as the premier low-cost carrier in Asia.
Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, Bo Lingam said: “We’re truly excited to launch AirAsia Malaysia’s first ever route to Australia commencing with one of our most frequented cities in the country – the beautiful Perth – adding to our daily existing flights on this route operated by our medium-haul affiliate airline AirAsia X (AAX). Thanks to the addition of the new model A321neo aircraft with longer range capabilities spanning over five hours and numerous operational efficiency, we are able to make these new services a reality on a narrowbody aircraft from Kuala Lumpur so that more of our guests can travel to Australia affordably.”

These promotional fares are available for booking from today until March 17, 2024, for travel dates extending up to November 30, 2024. Travelers can book their flights through the ‘Flights’ icon on the AirAsia MOVE app (previously known as the airasia Superapp) or the AirAsia website, making it easier to plan their trips.
