airBaltic, the Latvian national airline, marks a significant achievement: 15 years of uninterrupted service in Palanga. Throughout this period, the airline has been instrumental in linking Lithuania’s coastal city to the Latvian capital through daily flights. Notably, airBaltic offers passengers seamless connectivity via its hub in Riga to its extensive network and beyond, facilitated by collaborations with over 20 codeshare partners worldwide.

Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic: “Lithuania is one of our home markets, and we are
dedicated to improving connectivity from there. Over the years, we have observed passenger growth on
this route and are pleased to offer our customers a wide range of travel options with a one-stop connection
through airBaltic’s home base. Our recent announcement of starting direct service from Palanga to
Amsterdam in May, demonstrates our commitment to increasing our market share in Lithuania.”
We are grateful to our partners, Lithuanian Airports, for their cooperation throughout these years and
looking forward continuing our collaboration in the future,” Gauss added.

Simonas Bartkus, CEO of Lithuanian Airports: “We are delighted with our long-term and growing
partnership with airBaltic. The company’s 15 years of operations in Palanga have significantly contributed
to improving the accessibility of Western Lithuania. The growing cooperation between Lithuanian Airports
and the airline, as well as airBaltic’s expansion plans will open up new opportunities for the development of
the region’s business sector. The launch of flights between Palanga and Amsterdam is expected to be a
significant development. This will put Western Lithuania on the world map.”

Since its inaugural flight on April 1, 2009, airBaltic has transported over 545 thousand passengers and completed more than 11 thousand flights between the two cities. This year, the airline is set to expand its operations in Palanga by introducing direct flights to Amsterdam, with the maiden flight scheduled for May 29. The airline plans to operate two weekly flights on this route. In 2024, airBaltic aims to link Lithuania to 19 destinations and maintain a fleet of two aircraft based in Vilnius. Across all its flights, airBaltic offers two service classes – Economy and Business Class. Operating from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and, seasonally, Gran Canaria, airBaltic serves over 130 routes, providing connections to various destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region.
