airBaltic starts 2024 strongly with 16% surge in passenger numbers

AirBaltic, the national airline of Latvia, commenced the year on a robust note, with 287,900 passengers transported in January 2024. This signifies a notable 16% surge compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. Despite the customary dip in demand during the winter season, airBaltic has sustained consistently strong figures in passenger transport for a single month. January witnessed 3,170 flights operated by airBaltic, reflecting a 4% increase over the preceding year.

passenger numbers, affirming our position as the preferred airline for Baltic States. Our focus this year
is on expanding our fleet and destination offerings, a step towards not only recovering to pre-pandemic
levels but also surpassing them. With over 130 routes in operation, we’re connecting our home bases
to the globe more extensively than ever, accommodating a diverse spectrum of travel needs and
drawing significant interest for travelers.”

In January 2024, airBaltic transported 287,900 passengers and operated 3,170 flights, marking a 16% increase in passenger numbers and a 4% increase in flight operations compared to January 2023.

In 2023, airBaltic carried approximately 4.5 million passengers, representing a substantial 36% increase from 2022. Over the past 12 months, the airline conducted over 44,000 flights, reflecting an 18% rise from the previous year.

airBaltic maintains a robust network, operating more than 100 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and Gran Canaria (seasonally). These routes offer connections to various destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region.
