Starting January 31, 2024, airBaltic and SWISS launch a codeshare partnership, linking Zurich and Riga flights for improved travel flexibility.
Latvia’s flagship carrier, airBaltic, has recently announced a new codeshare agreement with Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), commencing on January 31, 2024. This collaboration will see SWISS appending its code to the airBaltic flights between Zurich and Riga, thereby enhancing travel options and flexibility for global passengers heading to Latvia.
This partnership operates on a connecting codeshare basis, meaning it applies to the Zurich-Riga route when combined with an additional connecting flight.
airBaltic’s CEO, Martin Gauss, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting SWISS’s reputation as a premium airline and the benefits it brings to global travelers between Switzerland and Riga, the Latvian capital and airBaltic’s main hub.
Under this new arrangement, SWISS will apply its LX code to the airBaltic flights from Zurich to Riga and back, potentially increasing passenger flow for airBaltic from SWISS’s extensive network, which spans over 100 locations globally, including continents like North and South America, Asia, and Africa.
Furthermore, airBaltic boasts a robust route network, with over 100 routes from its bases in Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, and Tampere, offering extensive connectivity across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus.
