Airbus SE shareholders gave their seal of approval to all proposals put forth at the Company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) for 2024, convened on April 10th in Amsterdam.
Among the resolutions endorsed was the extension of Chairman René Obermann’s tenure, along with that of fellow non-executive directors Victor Chu, Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, and Amparo Moraleda, each for a three-year term. Mr. Obermann was formally reinstated as Chairman of the Board during a subsequent Board meeting following the AGM.
Furthermore, Dr. Feiyu Xu joined as a non-executive director, succeeding Ralph D. Crosby, Jr., who tendered his resignation effective immediately following the AGM after serving on the Board since 2013. Dr. Xu’s appointment spans two years, aligning with the remainder of Mr. Crosby’s term.
Dr. Xu brings significant expertise to the Board, notably as a member of the Supervisory Board of technology firm ZF Friedrichshafen AG and a prominent authority in the application of artificial intelligence in industry. Her appointment bolsters the proportion of female directors from 33% to 42%, aligning with Airbus’s commitment to fostering diversity on both the Board and Executive Committee, encompassing gender and background diversity.
Airbus’s Board mandates undergo renewal at each AGM in cohorts of four, ensuring a smooth transition in Board composition and the retention of requisite skills among directors.
Finally, shareholders greenlit the proposed dividends for 2023, including a gross dividend of €1.80 per share (unchanged from 2022) and a special dividend of €1.00 per share.
