Alaska Airlines is accelerating its expansion in Portland, offering passengers increased choice and convenience. Beginning this summer, we are introducing over 20 daily flights to popular destinations from the Rose City. This expansion boosts our capacity by 25%, enhancing connectivity and offering more travel opportunities.
“We’ve been the largest carrier in Portland for more than 20 years. We don’t take that for granted. It’s important for us to provide our guests with a variety of convenient flight options at PDX along with the addition of new routes. We know travelers have a choice and we want them to fly with us,” said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning for Alaska Airlines.

Enhanced Service Routes from Portland
Due to the high demand for our winter-spring seasonal flight between Portland and Redmond/Bend, we’ve decided to add a second daily roundtrip starting October 1. Additionally, we’ve extended our nonstop seasonal service from Portland to Billings, Kansas City, and Minneapolis through the end of the year, beyond the original late summer conclusion.
Alaska Airlines now offers nonstop flights to 53 destinations from Portland, featuring several new additions to our route network. We launched nonstop flights to Miami on November 17. Year-round service to Nashville is set to begin on March 14. By this summer, our daily departures from Portland will exceed 100 on average.

We’re thrilled about our ongoing growth in Portland and are nearing the completion of our brand-new Flagship Lounge at PDX, set to open between 2025 and 2026. This expansive space, over 10,000 square feet, will offer twice the seating capacity of our current lounge areas. Designed with a nod to the Pacific Northwest’s essence, much like our acclaimed Flagship Lounge in Seattle’s N Concourse, this space will embody the region’s spirit. Lounge visitors will have access to a barista station serving handcrafted espresso and drip coffee by Stumptown, along with complimentary beer, wine, and house spirits. Additional amenities include our comfortable signature Loungers, and a custom-built fireplace for a cozy atmosphere.
