Alaska Airlines launches Global Getaways: Up to 50% off award redemptions for international destinations

Delighted to make the most of your Mileage Plan miles? Explore Alaska Airlines‘ Global Getaways! Starting today, indulge in up to 50% off on award redemptions for specific international destinations with us and our global partners. During April, Mileage Plan members have the opportunity to utilize miles on alaskaair.com for discounted award travel from September to November, unveiling a wide array of incredible destinations.

Every quarter, we’ll unveil a fresh list of captivating locales where you can travel for fewer miles. Kicking off Global Getaways with a theme of Exotic, Sunny Beach Escapes, indulge in one-way redemptions this fall in economy and premium economy cabins, courtesy of our diverse partner airlines:

• Tahiti (French Polynesia) will now commence at 20,000 miles instead of 30,000.
• Nadi (Fiji) will now commence at 20,000 miles instead of 37,500.
• Nassau (Bahamas) will now commence at 15,000 miles instead of 17,500.
• Zanzibar (Tanzania) will now commence at 30,000 miles instead of 42,500.
• Malé (Maldives) will now commence at 30,000 miles instead of 42,500.
• Bali/Denpasar (Indonesia) will now commence at 30,000 miles instead of 42,500.

In March, we initiated the rollout of our updated award charts, aimed at enhancing simplicity, value, and accessibility for our guests redeeming Mileage Plan miles for travel on our partner airlines. These revamped charts provide clearer insights into the mileage requirements for flights to various regions worldwide:

1. Reduced Mileage Costs: Our partner award travel now starts from as low as 4,500 miles one-way for short trips, a decrease from the previous 7,500 miles. Over 60% of nonstop economy and business class redemptions now commence at a lower mileage threshold.
2. Expanded Options: We’ve expanded the availability of award flight options, offering more choices when transitioning from an Alaska flight to a partner flight.
3. Enhanced Options for Upgrading: Begin enjoying premium economy seating through our partners at just a 30% premium over the cost of an economy ticket.
4. Enhanced Exploration: Most itineraries now allow for an international stopover at no extra cost, effectively offering two destinations for the price of one.

Furthermore, we’ve streamlined the process for purchasing tickets directly from our domestic and global partners through alaskaair.com. Customers can now easily access thousands of flights to over 500 destinations served by 24 oneworld and additional global partner airlines, including Air Tahiti Nui, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, STARLUX Airlines, and more. These partner flights are available across all classes of service on our website.
