Set to reconvene at the Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue in Spain from March 18 to 21, 2024, the premier global marketplace for the food, beverage, food service, and hospitality equipment sectors anticipates a remarkable 15% surge in participation from international exhibitors over its last gathering. With 3,200 companies set to display their offerings, 900 of which hail from across the globe, Alimentaria&Hostelco 2024 is poised to surpass its previous records in global outreach. This year’s event promises to enhance business prospects within the Horeca sector on a worldwide scale, particularly within Europe.

Italy will claim the largest exhibition space following Spain, with Turkey, China, Hong Kong, Poland, Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and Argentina also showcasing significant expansions in both their physical presence and exhibitor counts since 2022. The event will notably feature a strong Asian contingent, with China and Hong Kong at the forefront, alongside significant contributions from Taiwan, Thailand, and South Korea.

Anticipating around 100,000 attendees, of which 25% are expected to be international visitors, the expo aims to optimize networking opportunities through its buyer invitation initiative. This program is set to attract over 2,200 top-tier importers, distributors, executives, and procurement officials, with a majority being international delegates from over 80 countries, including the United States, Mexico, China, Canada, the United Kingdom, and South Korea, in addition to key Spanish import markets in Europe and Latin America.

Spanning seven halls and covering 100,000 square meters of net space, the Alimentaria expo is segmented into 13 distinct sectors. These include Intercarn, Interlact, Expoconser, Restaurama, and areas dedicated to snacks, biscuits, confectionery, gourmet, organic, and coffee, bakery & pastry products, among others. It will feature a range of segments from plant-based and vegan offerings to allergen-free, functional foods, and Halal options, alongside international pavilions, a showcase of Spain’s diverse regions, major grocery brands, and FoodTech innovations. The exclusive Premium space will host nine leading gourmet brands.

Additionally, Hostelco will present a comprehensive array of equipment, products, services, and concepts tailored for professionals in the restaurant, hotel, and catering sectors, aiming to inspire with new products, creative ideas, and innovative business models.
