Alstom, the international leader in smart and sustainable mobility, kick-started the production of its superlative Metropolis trainsets for Phase IV – Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. This order was granted in November 2022, is set to target to deliver 52 train sets, each containing six cars.
The project is planned to serve three different lines of DMRC, with two lines being extensions of the current Line 7 and 8, and the recent Gold Line 10 linking Aerocity to Tughlakabad, comprising a total distance of 64.67 kms. The production all started at a celebratory event headed by leaders from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and Alstom.
While sharing thoughts about this breakthrough, the Managing Director, DMRC, Dr. Vikas Kumar, said that the Delhi metro works as the lifeline of their city, and the inclusion of new routes will improve the connectivity in a great way in the country capital.
They are happy to know that Alstom is starting the production of Metro trains for the fourth phase of expansion of Delhi Metro. They are certain that the new age trains will guarantee a seamless and relaxed journey for the passengers.
The Managing Director, Alstom India, Olivier Loison, while remarking on the occasion said that they have a long-lasting connection with Delhi Metro, and it’s a matter of huge dignity for them to be a part of India’s largest metro network behind its constant growth and development.
