Binh Dinh province is on the brink of hosting the Amazing Binh Dinh Festival, slated as the central region’s hallmark event for 2024, aimed at propelling the local tourism sector forward. Scheduled from March 22-31, the festival boasts an array of activities, notably including the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship, attracting roughly 70 participants from 30 countries, and the UIM F1H2O World Championship, where Vietnam’s Binh Dinh motorboat team will vie against nine international teams.
Tran Viet Anh, the Chair of Binh Dinh F1 Joint Stock Company and the event’s organiser, shared that the preparation phase is nearly complete, with 90% of the work already done. In support, the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee has initiated several sub-committees focusing on logistics, health, culture, sports, and tourism to ensure the festival’s success.
The festival anticipates welcoming approximately 35,000 attendees, including both local and international visitors. Huynh Cao Nhat, the Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Tourism, highlighted the department’s efforts in ensuring that local tourism service providers are well-prepared for the influx of visitors. The department has also encouraged local authorities to collaborate in guaranteeing security and safety for the festival-goers.
Moreover, the tourism department has advised local accommodation providers to enhance their service quality and offer discounts to both athletes and visitors, aiming to create a hospitable and memorable experience for all attendees.
The province of Binh Dinh has seen a notable increase in tourist arrivals, with over 5 million visitors in 2023, generating revenues exceeding 16 trillion VND (approximately 650 million USD), marking a 25% growth from the previous year. The Amazing Binh Dinh Festival is poised to further boost these figures, positioning Binh Dinh as a prime destination for sports enthusiasts and tourists alike.
