American Airlines Announces Nonstop Flights from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles Starting April 4, Boosting Travel

American Airlines is set to enhance connectivity between Pittsburgh and Los Angeles with the introduction of nonstop daily flights starting April 4. The route, which the airline previously operated until February 2017, marks a significant boost in capacity and convenience for travelers on this vital transcontinental connection.

The new service will operate year-round, with Flight AA814 departing Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 9 a.m. Pacific Time and arriving at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) at 4:37 p.m. Eastern Time. The return leg will depart PIT at 5:57 p.m. Eastern Time, reaching LAX at 8:05 p.m. Pacific Time. This daily schedule is expected to provide a seamless option for both business and leisure travelers looking to traverse between Pennsylvania and California.

The reintroduction of this route by American Airlines will add over a third more capacity compared to previous operations, alongside doubling the number of available first-class seats. This enhancement aligns with the growing demand for premium travel options, catering to both frequent flyers and new customers seeking a more comfortable travel experience.

In addition to American Airlines’ renewed service, Breeze Airways has also announced plans to increase its Los Angeles service from Pittsburgh. Currently operating flights twice weekly, Breeze will expand to five weekly flights by early June. This combined effort by the airlines will significantly boost capacity on the PIT-LAX route, further solidifying Pittsburgh International Airport as a critical hub for connecting the Midwest and West Coast.
