The Amora Group, a Thai-owned entity, proudly unveils its latest addition: Amora Brisbane. This newly transformed five-star hotel, the result of a AU$30 million (USD20 million) renovation, marks a significant milestone in the group’s expansion. With this acquisition, the Amora brand’s portfolio now boasts six meticulously curated hotels and resorts across Australia and Thailand.
Formerly known as the Novotel Brisbane, the property was acquired by Amora from CDL Hospitality Trusts in 2020. The rejuvenation of Amora Brisbane closely follows the extensive refurbishment of Amora Beach Resort Phuket, a project totaling THB500 million (US$14 million), which concluded in December 2023.
Situated in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, Amora Brisbane offers unparalleled convenience, being just a stone’s throw away from Central Railway Station, The Queen St Mall, Treasury Casino, and Suncorp Stadium. Moreover, it’s merely a five-minute journey to the vibrant entertainment hubs of Howard Smith Wharves and Fortitude Valley. For business travelers, easy access to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre is provided with a quick 15-minute ride.
With its strategic location, Amora Brisbane is poised to capitalize on the burgeoning MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and events sectors, fueled by Brisbane’s emerging prominence as a premier sports destination in Australia. The city’s upcoming international sporting events, coupled with the excitement surrounding the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, will undoubtedly propel it onto the global stage, further enhancing the appeal of Amora Brisbane to both leisure and business travelers alike.
Brisbane continues to shine in the business world, thanks to the concerted efforts of key players like the Brisbane Economic Development Agency, Tourism and Events Queensland, and the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Their endeavors in securing major bids for international exhibitions, conferences, and incentives underscore the city’s growing prominence. Moreover, Brisbane’s AU$25 billion (US$16 billion) investment in transformative projects promises to elevate the city experience for both visitors and delegates, solidifying its allure as a top destination for both leisure and business travelers.
“As a company, we are looking to cement our footprint as a five-star hospitality group in Australia and Thailand, and we will achieve that by expanding in key cities in Asia Pacific and in developing Southeast Asian destinations. Our goal is to have 12 hotels in the region within the next five years.
“Amora Brisbane is certainly a feather in our cap and we couldn’t be happier about the full potential of the property in the years to come,” says Owner and Director Earp Siriphatrawan, the second-generation heir of Amora Group.
The newly revamped Amora Brisbane, boasting 296 keys, stands as a testament to Brisbane’s commitment to excellence. Its 11 renovated conference and event spaces, spanning 1,148 sqm, along with amenities like an elevated outdoor pool, fitness studio, and sauna, cater to every guest’s needs. Culinary delights await at Dapl Restaurant, serving modern Australian cuisine crafted from locally sourced ingredients, complemented by The Lobby Bar and Two Donkeys Café. Accommodation options, ranging from cozy Amora King and Amora Double Rooms to spacious Premier Rooms and Executive Suites, offer breathtaking views of the Brisbane skyline from private balconies.
In Thailand, Amora Group’s flagship property, Amora Beach Resort Phuket, boasts 264 luxurious keys and recently introduced amenities such as the Nora Beach Club, Amora Wellness Center, and new meeting venues like the expansive Amora Grand Ballroom. Additional offerings include four meeting rooms totaling 700 sqm and a sprawling 1,100 sqm beachfront events lawn.
The group’s diverse portfolio extends to Australia with Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney and Amora Hotel Riverwalk Melbourne, and in Thailand with Amora Neoluxe Hotel Bangkok and Amora Hotel Chiang Mai, totaling 1,350 keys. With plans for further investment in existing hospitality assets in both countries and strategic acquisitions in key cities and resort areas, Amora Group is poised to expand its footprint and enhance the Amora experience for discerning travelers worldwide.
