All Nippon Airways (ANA), the largest Japanese carrier, and ITA Airways, the national carrier of Italy, have entered into a codeshare agreement to link their networks.

This new collaborative alliance aims to expand travel options for customers of both airlines. Passengers will now enjoy improved connectivity through the hubs of Rome Fiumicino and Tokyo Haneda, the primary airports for ITA Airways and All Nippon Airways, respectively.

Commencing on January 24th, this partnership allows travelers with All Nippon Airways and ITA Airways to seamlessly reach their destinations using a single ticket. Passengers can check in at their departure airport and retrieve their checked baggage at the final destination airport.

Starting January 17th, All Nippon Airways will designate its “NH” code on ITA Airways’ flights connecting Haneda and Rome, as well as on routes to five Italian destinations (Bologna, Venice, Turin, Florence, Naples) connected with Rome Fiumicino Airport. Simultaneously, ITA Airways will utilize its “AZ” code on six domestic Japanese destinations (Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Itami, Kansai, Okinawa, and Sapporo). Both ANA and ITA are contemplating expanding this collaboration by incorporating additional codes in the near future.

This agreement is anticipated to strengthen the economic and commercial ties between Italy and Japan. Additionally, it offers Italian tourists the chance to explore the wonders of Japan, while providing Japanese citizens with convenient travel options to Italy, all while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Customers can purchase codeshare flights starting January 17th through the respective websites of the airlines (www.ita-airways.com and https://www.ana.co.jp/en/jp/), reservation systems, and authorized travel agencies.
