Andaz Dubai The Palm appoints Bastian Baumann as new hotel manager

Andaz Dubai The Palm has brought in Bastian Baumann as its hotel manager. Previously posited at Andaz in Munich as EAM, he will now lead the day-to-day operations of the Palm Jumeirah hotel.

He is looking forward to continuing his Andaz journey as the new hotel manager at this truly inspiring and immersive hotel in Dubai.

Together with a tremendously driven, diverse and motivated team of individuals, he anticipates achieving even greater milestones for the Andaz brand and the Hyatt corporation as a whole.

Before serving as an EAM in Munich, he was DOSM at the same hotel for more than three years. Coming from a sales background, he previously worked as director of sales at The Duxton Club in Singapore.

He spent six years with Starwood, joining in 2011 as complex account director of business and group travel for Hotel Imperial, Hotel Bristol and Le Meridien in Vienna. He later moved to Frankfurt as the group’s senior account director for the US, followed by director of sales for five hotels in Frankfurt.

Besson began as a sales executive at Hyatt Regency Dubai and was soon promoted to sales manager. Then moving to Grand Hyatt where he was promoted to director of sales in 2019. 

Since June 2020, he has led the sales and marketing department as Director of Sales at Andaz Dubai the Palm.

The new DOSM said that he is humbled by the opportunity to further develop the business, working together with their clients and partners to achieve even more significant milestones for our property.
