Travel And Tour World had the opportunity to interview Aneta Książek, the head of the Poland Convention Bureau, at Conventa 2024. Poland’s meetings industry was greatly impacted by Aneta’s work at the Polish Tourism Organization and as a delegate in Brussels, which culminated in her revolutionary leadership at the Poland Convention Bureau.

Travel And Tour World: Hello, could you tell me a little bit about your Conventa 2024 experience?

Aneta Książek: We are positioned as a place that is ready for exploration because we are situated in both Central and New Europe. That serves as the inspiration for our creative campaign, “Poland. More Than You Expected.” It is a fact that finding genuinely passionate and professional people in the industry is not always possible, let alone upholding high standards for food quality and hotel accommodations. It is for this reason that we believe it is very beneficial to attend the Conventa show. It provides an excellent platform for showcasing the most recent trade shows in Europe and researching methods for successfully promoting our region. We are really glad to be here, participating and delivering this message.

Travel And Tour World: What are you doing in the MICE sector?

Aneta Książek: To ensure the seamless execution of MICE events, we at the Poland Convention Bureau cordially invite Destination Management Companies to work in tandem with us. There are fourteen convention bureaus in total, with which we actively work in partnership. Additionally, we use unique methods to promote Poland across various sectors. For instance, this little guy over here,” I say, gesturing to the plush stork I am holding,” is a representation of our work. Our purpose for being here today is to present Poland in a creative way.

Travel And Tour World: I notice that you are holding a stork bird; could you explain why?

Aneta Książek: You see, in Polish tradition, the stork has a very special place. Every year, around 5,000 of these birds come to Poland, which is a significant event for us. The young storks, in an interesting turn of events, return to Africa. We like to think that all these storks are, at least partially, native to Poland. Thus, our invitation to “Come to Poland, visit us” is similar to the stork’s friendly beckoning. Our message is centered around our desire to offer happiness and joy to everyone. That is the main idea we are attempting to get through.
