It has been announced that the festival will encompass a variety of cultural activities designed to highlight the traditional Vietnamese long dress’s unique aspects and encourage affection for the garment.

Jointly organized by Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Union, the festival aspires to showcase the Ao Dai’s distinctiveness and cultural significance. Locations such as Nguyen Hue walking street, Lam Son park, the Ao Dai Museum, the Youth Cultural House, and other notable tourist spots have been selected as venues for the festival’s activities.

The Ao Dai Festival in Ho Chi Minh City is poised to significantly boost tourism by drawing attention to the cultural heritage of Vietnam through the celebration of its traditional dress. By involving renowned designers and celebrities as ambassadors, the festival not only garners national attention but also piques the interest of international visitors keen on exploring Vietnamese culture.

The selection of popular tourist destinations as venues further integrates the festival into the city’s tourism landscape, encouraging visitors to explore more of what Ho Chi Minh City has to offer.

This annual event, by promoting the Ao Dai’s beauty and cultural significance, not only fosters a deeper appreciation for Vietnamese traditions among locals and tourists alike but also enhances the city’s appeal as a cultural tourism destination.

The “Ao Dai zero dong” program adds a philanthropic dimension to the festival, underlining the community spirit and inclusivity that the event promotes. Overall, the festival is expected to contribute to the vibrancy of Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism sector, attracting a diverse audience and enriching the cultural experience of visitors.

Le Truong Hien Hoa, the Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Tourism, revealed that this year’s festival will see the participation of 30 Ao Dai designers from various parts of the country. Additionally, 22 renowned artists, singers, actors, and actresses will act as ambassadors for the event, further highlighting its prominence.

The festival is set to host an array of activities, including an Ao Dai parade on Nguyen Hue walking street that is expected to attract about 5,000 participants, a seminar dedicated to the beauty of the Vietnamese Ao Dai, and a beauty pageant. An especially noteworthy program titled “Ao Dai zero dong” aims to bring happiness to poor workers and disadvantaged women by offering them the opportunity to own an Ao Dai.
