Around 2.6 lakh new jobs for UP tourism

A roughly 2.6 lakh jobs will be generated all over the tourism sector of Uttar Pradesh via investments promised in the Global Investor Summit arranged lately.


In the tourism sector, the state government has welcomed 397 proposals which have been included in the top 20 sectors.


The value of these proposals is expected to be at Rs. 98,193 crore. Once in place, they would create employment opportunities to 2.6 lakh persons.


Similarly, in the hospitality sector, 437 MoUs to the tune of Rs. 20,722 crore have been signed. They are expected to generate employment for yet another 1.6 lakh people.


From Japan, a good part of this investment has come.


During the GIS, Japan investors have signed MoUs of worth Rs. 7,200 crore. The list features Japanese Hotel Management International Company Limited. It will open hotels in 30 different cities in India, like Ayodhya, Agra, and Varanasi.


An official spokesperson explained that sustained initiations of the Yogi Adityanath government have actually attributed behind the trend.


The spokesperson said that the state recorded the influx of 24.87 crore visitors, comprising 4.10 lakh international tourists, to destinations last year and due to this, tourism and hospitality acquired huge interest from the investors in the GIS.


For tourism, the efforts to revamp Vishwanath Dham Corridor have proved to be a huge magnet.
