Arunachal Pradesh, India Accelerates Growth With Thirty-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Forty-Two Crore Budget Focused On Innovation Rural Connectivity And Economic Empowerment

Arunachal Pradesh, India unveils a transformative ₹39,842 crore budget for 2025-26, focusing on infrastructure, education, rural growth, and human capital development.

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Chowna Mein unveiled the Arunachal Pradesh state budget for 2025-26, with a total outlay of ₹39,842.23 crore. Representing an 11.16% rise from the previous year, the budget underscores the government’s focus on holistic development.

Key Sectoral Allocations:

• Education: ₹3,000 crore to upgrade infrastructure and improve education quality.
• Healthcare: ₹369 crore to enhance medical facilities and services.
• Agriculture & Allied Sectors: ₹1,112 crore to boost agricultural output and allied industries.
• Women & Child Development: ₹392 crore for women empowerment and child welfare programs.
• Chief Minister’s Social Security Scheme: ₹100 crore to strengthen welfare measures.
• Mission Antyodaya: ₹462 crore for uplifting marginalized communities.
• Skill Development: ₹106 crore for youth employment training.
• Youth & Sports: ₹120 crore to promote sports and youth engagement.
• Tourism: ₹108 crore to enhance the state’s tourism potential.
• Indigenous Affairs:₹60 crore to protect and promote indigenous culture. Revenue & Fiscal Outlook:
  The state expects revenue receipts of ₹34,544.07 crore and capital receipts of ₹5,298.16 crore. Arunachal Pradesh’s share of central taxes is projected at ₹24,992.35 crore, marking a 16.61% increase. The state’s own tax and non-tax revenues are estimated at ₹4,607.72 crore, reflecting a 15% growth.

The fiscal deficit stands at ₹966.65 crore, or 2.02% of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), aligning with the guidelines of the Arunachal Pradesh Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act, 2006.

Strategic Initiatives:
The budget is structured around four key pillars—Investing in People, Infrastructure, Economy, and Innovation. A major highlight is the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive State Rural Road Development Programme, with an initial ₹500 crore allocation, aiming for ₹2,000 crore over four years to improve rural connectivity.

2025-26: Year of Human Capital
Declaring 2025-26 as the Year of Human Capital, the government focuses on skill development, technology adoption, and entrepreneurship to build a stronger workforce and drive economic growth.

This budget reaffirms Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to inclusive development, infrastructure expansion, and human capital growth, aligning with the vision of a *Viksit Arunachal’ as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
