Ascott CARES celebrates its one-year anniversary by introducing the Somerset Sustainability Passport Programme across 30 global properties, doubling the number introduced last year. The program, which aligns with Ascott’s commitment to responsible travel, involves guests in eco-friendly activities, wellness initiatives, and community projects.

Starting on November 20, 2023, the Somerset Sustainability Passport Programme reflects Ascott’s commitment to active guest participation and shared sustainability goals. Ms. Tan Bee Leng, Ascott’s Managing Director for Brand and Marketing, emphasizes the program’s role in cultivating a sense of community and shared purpose through the Somerset brand.

Somerset, known for its inclusivity and sustainability, positions itself as forward-thinking and socially responsible in response to the growing demand for sustainable and mindful travel. The program emphasizes family bonding through on-site sustainability initiatives that emphasize harmony with the environment, oneself, and others.

Harmony with the Environment: Somerset properties actively promote environmental conservation through initiatives such as plant adoption drives, rooftop gardens, and recycled-material art workshops.

Harmony with Oneself: With healthy snacks, fitness classes, and screen-free activities like yoga and meditation, guests are encouraged to prioritize their physical and mental well-being.

Harmony with the People Around: Somerset promotes family bonding and community interaction through cultural workshops, local experience tours, and visits to landmarks.

The Sustainability Passport Program educates the next generation on eco-friendly tasks, fostering a sustainable future. Families who choose GoGreen and reduce housekeeping frequency earn Ascott Star Rewards points.

Furthering Sustainability Efforts: Somerset Central Bundang encourages charitable bazaar donations for people with disabilities. Global initiatives include recycling plastic water dispenser bottles, repurposing bottles as school uniforms, and using renewable energy.

Sustainable Built Environment: Somerset properties worldwide, including Somerset Greenways Chennai, have received EDGE certification for significant reductions in energy and water consumption. Ascott’s portfolio now includes nearly 30 EDGE-certified properties, more than doubling from the previous year.

Ascott CARES remains critical to meeting sustainability goals, actively working toward Net Zero emissions by 2050. The Somerset Sustainability Passport Programme reflects Ascott’s commitment to responsible and sustainable travel experiences, inviting guests to be active participants in the journey toward a greener future.
