Assam government declares new tourism policy

In order to create a policy outline and planned roadmap for reinforcing tourism support sections and its sub-sectors, the Assam government declared its new tourism program.


To drive sustainable development in the state, a new Assam Tourism Policy 2022 was initiated by Jayanta Malla Baruah, the minister of tourism in Assam.


Panel deliberations, visual demonstrations, cultural dance shows and B2B interactive meetings inviting entrepreneurs and investors for making Assam their destination forinvestment were held at a hotel in Delhi.


The new tourism policy has been prepared after all-encompassing discussions with the World Bank. The opinion of the stakeholders and industry specialists has been given a lot of consideration for preparing the plan.


The new ‘Assam Tourism Policy-2022’ has been laid out at an appropriate time when the state is at the verge of new beginnings.


Jayanta Malla Baruah said that Assam is guaranteed to captivate travelers with what it has to offer throughout the state.


Efforts would be made for imparting training to women in male-dominated positions like guides, cooks, waiters and drivers, including providing acknowledgment to firms that inspire women in such positions.

Three Assam Ministers, Atul Bora, U.G. Brahma and Sanjoy Kishan along with senior Assam and central government representatives took part in the Assam Tourism road show and the following event.
