In ‘Heal in India’ initiative, at 10 airports, interpreters and special desks, a multi-lingual portal and easy to follow visa procedures are going to be the main highlights which would boost medical tourism in return.
Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India is all set to declare about this effort on August 15th. At present, the Health Ministry is going through the final details of different features of this effort and measures for ease of foreign patients.
The government has recently recognized 44 countries from where a huge number of medical tourists come to India for treatment, official sources informed PTI, mentioning that the treatment cost and quality in these nations were also taken into consideration.
These are mainly Latin American, African, SAARC and Gulf countries.
Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Guwahati are the 10 airports that have been identified as these witnesses’ higher footfalls of patients from 44 countries, the sources confirmed.
The Indian government an intention to improve medical tourism and offer end-to-end patient journey facilitation, is all set to organize language interpreters and create health desks at the 10 airports which have been identified. This step was taken to resolve queries related to medical travel, transport, boarding and lodging among many others. When it comes to for medical and wellness tourism, this ‘Heal in India’ plan is targeting to place the country as a global hub.
