Passenger traffic at Athens International Airport (AIA) experienced remarkable growth in 2024, surging by 13.1% compared to the previous year, according to ANA.
As per Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos,” statistical data shows a total of 31.85 million passengers utilized the airport in 2024, a significant increase from 28.17 million in 2023. Both domestic and international travel contributed to this growth, with domestic passenger numbers rising by 7.3% and international traffic climbing by an impressive 15.7%.

December 2024 saw particularly robust activity, with passenger traffic reaching 2.13 million—a 14.5% increase over December 2023. During the month, domestic passenger numbers were up by 6.2%, while international traffic soared by 18.1%.
Flight operations also saw a notable uptick, with 268,301 flights recorded at AIA in 2024, marking an 11.0% increase compared to 2023. The rise was evident across both domestic and international routes, which grew by 5.1% and 15.5%, respectively.
