The Africa Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA) is embarking on a strategic initiative to captivate the Indian market, aiming to augment the flow of Indian tourists to Africa. By participating in two pivotal travel trade events in India this February—the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) in Mumbai and the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) in Delhi—Africa Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA) is set to foster deeper connections within the industry and showcase the diverse tourism opportunities Africa has to offer.

The Africa Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA), with its commendable three-decade legacy, has been at the forefront of promoting sustainable tourism development across Africa. Recognizing the burgeoning interest of Indian travelers in wildlife, adventure, and cultural experiences, ATTA® is keen on leveraging these trends to enhance tourism inflow from India to Africa. The association’s engagement in OTM and SATTE will facilitate direct interactions with buyers and media, enabling ATTA® to tailor its offerings to meet the evolving preferences of Indian tourists.

Jon Danks, CEO of Africa Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA), underscored the significance of the Indian market in Africa’s tourism growth strategy. Following constructive discussions with tourism ministers from across Africa, it became evident that the Indian market harbors immense potential for African destinations. The participation in OTM and SATTE represents a critical effort by Africa Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA) to understand and tap into this potential by building enduring relationships with key stakeholders in the Indian travel ecosystem.

The enthusiasm among Indian travelers for destinations like Cape Town and Masai Mara is just the beginning. Africa Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA)’s initiative aims not only to promote these well-loved destinations but also to unveil the lesser-known jewels of Africa to the Indian audience. With sustainability as a guiding principle, Africa Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA) is dedicated to ensuring that the increase in tourism benefits both travelers and local communities, preserving the continent’s natural and cultural heritage for future generations.

Through its active presence at these trade events, Africa Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA) aspires to set the stage for a significant uptick in outbound tourism from India to Africa. This strategic move is expected to strengthen the bonds between African destinations and Indian travelers, paving the way for a sustainable and mutually beneficial growth in tourism.
