Avianca Rolls Out New Comfort Features and Wi-Fi Connectivity with Eight Hundred Million Dollar Investment

Avianca, one of Latin America’s leading airlines, has recently unveiled its ambitious “More for Everyone” campaign, a part of its $800 million investment plan aimed at enhancing its fleet and customer experience. The airline’s efforts are focused on boosting comfort and connectivity across its network, solidifying its position as a top choice for travelers within the Americas and beyond.

Comfort Upgrades for a Premium Experience

Starting January 15, 2026, Avianca is expanding its Business Class Américas service to cover 47 domestic routes across Ecuador, Colombia, and Guatemala. This new offering marks a significant step in the airline’s effort to enhance its premium services. The Business Class experience will also be extended to over 80 international routes, further expanding its coverage across the Americas.

In addition to in-flight improvements, Avianca is elevating its ground services to match the upgraded onboard experience. One of the key innovations is the introduction of the Insignia by Avianca check-in service, which will be available at Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport for Lifemiles Diamond and Concierge members. This exclusive service promises to deliver a seamless and luxurious start to the journey. Further enhancing the luxury offering, Avianca is also renovating its Diamond VIP Lounges, first for domestic flights and eventually extending these upgrades to international flights departing from Bogotá.

Enhanced Connectivity with In-Flight Wi-Fi and Entertainment

As part of its connectivity enhancements, Avianca is progressively installing onboard Wi-Fi through its Avianca On Air program. This service is currently available on 10 of its aircraft, with plans for expansion. Passengers can now enjoy access to a wide selection of entertainment, including over 300 movies, series, and documentaries from renowned platforms such as HBO Max and Formula 1 TV. The airline’s investment in connectivity ensures that travelers remain entertained and productive, whether they’re flying for business or leisure.

Continued Growth and Network Expansion

Avianca has been steadfast in expanding its route network, now offering more than 155 routes connecting over 80 destinations across 25 countries in the Americas and Europe. New additions to its network include the recently launched routes between Guayaquil and Miami, Bogotá and Belém, as well as Bogotá and Monterrey. These new destinations contribute to a 13% increase in the airline’s regional connectivity, ensuring that passengers have more options than ever before when booking their flights.

Avianca’s strong performance throughout the year is reflected in its impressive operational statistics. The airline has transported over 27 million passengers on more than 195,000 flights during the first three quarters of 2025. These numbers demonstrate Avianca’s consistent ability to meet demand while maintaining high service standards across its network.

U.S. Operations: A Key Growth Area

Avianca’s operations in the United States continue to be a significant part of its strategy. Between January and September 2025, the airline carried more than 3.7 million passengers to and from the U.S., marking a 5.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This rise in passenger numbers is a testament to the airline’s increasing popularity among U.S. travelers and those traveling to the Americas.

In addition to passenger growth, Avianca saw a 9.4% increase in the number of flights operated to and from the U.S. in 2025, with a total of 25,719 departures. This enhanced flight frequency reflects Avianca’s critical role in facilitating connectivity between the U.S. and Latin America, as well as catering to the high demand from tourists visiting the U.S. from across the Americas.

By the close of the third quarter of 2025, Avianca was operating over 38 routes to and from the U.S., with more than 360 weekly flights. This robust network highlights the airline’s commitment to providing reliable, efficient, and frequent services to its passengers in the U.S. and around the world.
