The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival kicked off in the capital yesterday and will run until August 20, 2023. It is being held in collaboration with the several State Governments and UTs.

The festival’s purpose is to recognize India’s great culinary variety. The occasion will highlight regional specialties and raise awareness of each state’s distinctive offers while promoting a feeling of community.
23 States and UTs are participating in the Food Festival. In New Delhi, the State Sadans/Bhawans of the participating States are hosting the celebration.

Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Assam, Mizoram, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Punjab, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Chattisgarh, Nagaland, etc. are a few of the participating States and UTs.

In conjunction with the Food Festival, a few States are also hosting a handicraft exhibition on the grounds of their respective State Bhawans.

The event also promotes the idea of Dekho Apna Desh, one of the Ministry’s successful initiatives to inspire people to discover the undiscovered wonders of their own nation. This effort supports the overarching objectives of boosting national pride and domestic tourism promotion.

In addition to celebrating India’s rich history and traditions, the Food Festival also serves to honor Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and spread the idea of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. The success of this engaging experience will be supported by the coordinated efforts of the State Governments, the Ministry of Tourism, and other stakeholders.
