The congress will feature 13 business sessions over two days, with over 50 expert speakers from various industries and government sectors. Key topics will include current trends in the MICE industry, opportunities for sustainable development, and the potential for enhanced cooperation among BRICS nations.

Government and Industry Collaboration

A cornerstone of the congress is its focus on aligning government initiatives with business needs to drive the growth of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions industry industry. The opening plenary session, “MICE Industry Through the Eyes of the Government: How to Ensure Sustainable and Predictable Development in the New Realities?” will feature prominent government officials, including Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation; Evgeny Kozlov, Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee; and Evgeny Pankevich, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee.

This session will address pressing challenges faced by the MICE industry and explore mechanisms through which government agencies can support the sector’s sustainable development. With Moscow aiming to more than double its tourism sector growth by 2030, discussions will focus on increasing the number of business travelers from 3.7 million in 2023 to 8 million.

Strengthening BRICS Cooperation

The congress underscores the strategic importance of BRICS cooperation in shaping the future of the global Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions industry industry. By leveraging the collective strengths of BRICS nations, the event aims to drive innovation, foster economic growth, and address emerging challenges in business tourism. Moscow’s efforts to strengthen ties with BRICS partners align with its broader vision for sustainable tourism development.

Earlier this year, Moscow hosted the inaugural BRICS Tourism Forum, which brought together delegations from nine member countries. Building on the success of that event, the Meet Global MICE Congress: BRICS Edition serves as a continuation of Moscow’s commitment to enhancing international tourism collaboration.
