Badr Route: A fresh venture unveiled on Visit Madinah platform

Explore the newest addition to Al-Madinah’s vibrant visitor experiences with “Badr Route Journey,” proudly introduced by Visit Madinah, the premier platform supervised by the Madinah Development Authority. Launched on March 4th, 2024, under the esteemed patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Prince of Madinah, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Madinah Region Development Authority, this journey targets tourists and visitors to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A collaborative effort between the Destination Management Office of the Madinah Region Development Authority, the government sector, the third sector, and the private sector has brought this innovative project to life. During the upcoming holy month of Ramadan and beyond, travelers can embark on the Badr route through the “Visit Madinah” platform and app, designed to enrich visitors’ experiences, highlight Al-Madinah’s Islamic heritage, historical significance, and cultural treasures, and bolster the region’s tourism and economy.

The Badr route, spanning 170 km, connects Madinah with the renowned Badr area, a pivotal site in Islamic history. It offers Umrah performers and visitors a captivating journey through Madinah’s rich cultural tapestry. This transformation aims to position the region as a premier tourist, historical, and natural destination, showcasing its profound historical and cultural heritage.

Camels, designated as the primary means of navigation, align with the royal decree naming 2024 as the year of camels. The “Badr Route Journey” serves as a celebration of culture and history, honoring camels as integral to the Kingdom’s heritage. Join us on this cultural and historical exploration, as we pay homage to the past while embracing the future of tourism in Al-Madinah.
