Bahrain’s First Surf Park Debuts at Bilaj Al Jazayer with Innovative Wavegarden Cove Technology

Edamah, the real estate arm of Mumtalakat, together with GFH Financial Group (GFH), has unveiled the “Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience.” This innovative project marks the first-ever surf park in the Middle East and North Africa region, featuring the cutting-edge ‘Wavegarden Cove’ technology.

The “Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience” will be the inaugural leisure and entertainment offering within the expansive Bilaj Al Jazayer development, a 1.3 million square meter project located on Bahrain’s southwest coastline. Bilaj Al Jazayer, honored as Bahrain’s Best Leisure Development by the Arabian Property Awards, will also host luxury beachfront hotels, upscale residences, and commercial spaces.

Club Hawaii is set to nurture and train the next generation of surfers through a range of comprehensive programs designed for beginners, improvers, intermediates, and advanced surfers. Embracing the spirit of Hawaii, the birthplace of surfing, the club aims to develop surfers of the future while paying homage to the essence of the Hawaiian surf culture.

The “Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience” is projected to welcome around 300,000 visitors annually, with over 140,000 surf sessions expected each year. The park will offer a variety of amenities, including food and beverage outlets, a spacious terrace, a retail store, cabanas, event spaces, and a private entertainment area ideal for corporate or school gatherings. Plans are also in place to host a major international surfing competition at the park in 2026.

Equipped with the cutting-edge Wavegarden Cove technology, the park can accommodate up to 90 surfers simultaneously and generate up to 1,000 waves per hour, catering to all skill levels, from beginners to professionals. This wave-making technology boasts the lowest energy consumption available, providing numerous social and economic benefits to the surrounding communities.

The “Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience” is slated for a 2026 opening.
