Dusit Hotels and Resorts, the hospitality division of Dusit International, a prominent hotel and real estate development company in Thailand, has declared the official reopening of the legendary Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel for September 2024.
Located at the original site where it first made its mark on Bangkok skyline from 1970 until 2019, the eagerly awaited new incarnation of Dusit flagship luxury hotel is set to offer a modern interpretation of its renowned legacy. It aims to once again become a symbol of Thai-inspired elegant hospitality, welcoming discerning guests from across the globe.
The redesigned Dusit Thani Bangkok has been carefully rebuilt to provide a luxurious lodging experience that surpasses the high standards set by its predecessor. The new 39-story building, housing 257 rooms compared to the original 517, ensures spacious accommodations for guests. These include lavish rooms and suites, starting at a generous 50 sq m, designed by the world-famous Asian interior design company, André Fu Studio. The hotel’s architecture, a collaborative vision by Architects 49 International Limited and OMA Asia Hong Kong Limited, part of the prestigious Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), features innovative design and strategic layout to enhance the sense of space. A unique corridor floorplan guarantees that each room overlooks the verdant Lumpini Park, offering guests spectacular views through large, floor-to-ceiling windows, and integrates the serenity of nature with opulent interior design.
Continuing the legacy of its predecessor, known for having one of Bangkok’s most elegant ballrooms, the new Dusit Thani Bangkok will maintain this tradition with over 5,000 sq m of extensive banquet and meeting facilities. This includes one of Bangkok’s largest grand ballrooms, featuring a high ceiling and panoramic views of Lumpini Park, along with various meeting spaces suited for both small and large events.
In the near future, the hotel plans to unveil an exciting array of dining options, including sophisticated culinary ventures in partnership with famed chefs and a chic multi-level rooftop bar.
Aligned with Dusit’s dedication to holistic well-being, the Devarana Wellness signature concept will introduce a novel urban oasis designed to provide personalized wellness experiences for guests, visitors, and local residents. More information on the hotel’s wellness and culinary offerings will be announced as the reopening date approaches.
In its architectural design, the newly unveiled Dusit Thani Bangkok incorporates iconic features from the original establishment, meticulously dismantled and conserved for their integration into the new structure. Notably, the building’s celebrated golden spire has been reinstalled during the recent topping-off ceremony of the new property, along with cherished pieces of art from esteemed local artists. Additionally, the unique, handcrafted teakwood decorations and various historical artifacts from the original site have been seamlessly woven into the fabric of the new construction.

Situated at the core of Dusit Central Park, the rejuvenated Dusit Thani Bangkok is part of a monumental THB 46 billion mixed-use project that includes not only ultra-luxury dwellings (Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside) but also a cutting-edge office tower, a premium retail space, and an expansive 11,200 sq m Roof Park. These complementary facilities are slated for a phased opening throughout 2025.
