Bangus Valley can be turned into a world-class tourist destination, says Director Tourism

Director Tourism, G. N. Itoo, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din and SSP Kupwara visited Bangus valley in Kupwara district. The team went there to assess the preparatory arrangements for organizing a Tourism festival at Bangus valley in Kashmir.

The tourist destination was explored length and breadth by the dignitaries. They talked about different issues in terms of its development.

Director Tourism on the occasion stated that the main aim of this North Kashmir visit was to personally evaluate all the possibilities to make the most of the tourism potential of Bangus valley.

Dr. Itoo also mentioned that the Bangus has immense possibility to become a world class tourist destination. He stated that the Government is all set to develop this high altitude tourist destination into a hotspot, where national and international tourists can visit.

He also added that in the area, the Department will set up infrastructural facilities so that tourists can put up at the tourist location without any hassle.

Also, he said that development of Bangus valley will make the socio-economic status of the whole of the district much better, particularly the ones who are living in nearby villages.

Dr. Itoo explained that at the Bangus, the department is arranging a Tourism Festival with active participation of all local stakeholders and the district Administration. He also stated that arranging Tourism Festival of this sort will lure the tourists from all over India and enjoy the scenic beauty of the virgin valley
