Bayambang in Pangasinan Opens Their First Amusement Park in the Philippines to Boost its Tourism, Jobs and New Investment with More than Two Billion PHP and BYB Metro Township

Published on November 24, 2025

The country’s northern Philippines will see Pangasinan welcome its first full-scale amusement park in the town of Bayambang on November 29, giving the province a new leisure landmark and further strengthening its position on the country’s domestic tourism map. This four-hectare Blue Sky Theme Park and Events Center is expected to increase tourism arrivals, local spending, and weekend travel in this area of Luzon. For families and tour groups looking to travel to new destinations within the country, Bayambang’s park adds a fresh option beyond traditional beach and pilgrimage routes, helping spread tourism benefits inland and away from already crowded areas.

Local Jobs At The Heart Of The Park’s Operations

According to executive and operations assistant Jerwin Valeros, the park’s management has placed local hiring at the center of its operations. For the soft launch, they have taken on about 60 staff, and around 90 percent are residents of Bayambang.

As the park moves toward its grand opening in the first quarter of 2026, more workers will be added in roles such as ride operations, guest services, security, maintenance, and events. This means the project is not only a tourism attraction but also a job generator for this part of Pangasinan, reducing the need for residents to seek employment in larger Philippine cities or overseas.

A New Platform For Small Food And Retail Businesses

The park will host 12 food stalls dedicated to small and medium entrepreneurs from the town. For local vendors, having a presence inside a theme park offers steady access to day trippers, tour groups, and pilgrims, especially during holidays and peak seasons.

As domestic tourism in the Philippines continues to grow, these stalls could evolve into recognizable homegrown brands, giving Bayambang its own identity in snacks, specialty dishes, and refreshments. Over time, the combination of rides and local food can help make the park a must stop destination on Pangasinan tour circuits.

Blue Sky Theme Park As Anchor Of BYB Metro Investment Hub

The Blue Sky Theme Park and Events Center sits within a larger 67 hectare investment hub in Barangay Bani, known as the Bayambang BYB Metro. Valued at PHP2.5 billion, this mixed use township will feature not only the theme park but also open spaces, hotels, residential zones, and commercial areas.

The development is expected to be completed within five years, gradually turning this part of Bayambang into a new growth corridor. For the Philippines’ tourism sector, BYB Metro could serve as a model for township style projects where leisure facilities are integrated with living, business, and events spaces, encouraging visitors to extend their stays and spend more within the local economy.

Mayor Highlights Culture Commerce Tourism And National Visibility

Mayor Mary Clare Judith Phyllis Jose Quiambao has described the project as a catalyst not just for economic growth, but also for culture and commerce. By hosting a major theme park and a full mixed use township, Bayambang gains a new identity that can be promoted across the Philippines as a destination where faith tourism, family leisure, and business travel intersect.

She has also noted that the benefits are likely to spill over to neighboring towns in central and eastern Pangasinan, as visitors use nearby municipalities for stopovers, side trips, and additional services. This enlarges the tourism catchment area and supports the national goal of spreading tourism income more evenly beyond traditional hotspots.

Strategic Location Beside A Key Pilgrimage Site

One of Bayambang’s biggest tourism advantages is geography. The new amusement park is located near the St. Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park, home to the tallest engineered bamboo statue of St. Vincent Ferrer and a major pilgrimage destination in the Philippines.

Local officials expect that many pilgrims travelling from other parts of Luzon and beyond will combine their spiritual visit with a family outing to the theme park. This pairing of religious tourism and recreational tourism can significantly increase the average length of stay and total spend per trip, benefitting transport operators, restaurants, homestays, and hotels across Pangasinan.

Tourism Impact For Pangasinan And The Philippines

From a tourism perspective, Blue Sky Theme Park positions Bayambang as a new stop in domestic itineraries that link faith attractions, leisure parks, and heritage towns in northern Philippines. Tour operators can now design packages that blend visits to St. Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park, the amusement park, and other Pangasinan landmarks, providing an alternative to the usual beach centered tours in the province.

For the national tourism portfolio, the project adds diversity. With more Filipino families seeking weekend and holiday destinations reachable by road from Metro Manila and nearby regions, a modern theme park in Pangasinan reinforces efforts to promote road trip tourism and spread visitor flows beyond coastal areas. If marketed well, Bayambang could also attract overseas Filipinos returning for holidays who want to explore new places beyond major cities.

Revenue Projections And Long Term Economic Gains

According to Agricultural Infrastructure and Leasing Corp. AILC president Cezar Quiambao, the new metro area, including the amusement park, is projected to generate around PHP50 million to PHP200 million in annual income for Bayambang once fully operational.

This revenue will flow from local taxes, business permits, lease payments, and other tourism driven activities. For the municipal government, this provides fresh resources that can be reinvested in roads, public services, tourism facilities, and community programs, reinforcing a cycle where tourism supports development and development makes the town more attractive to visitors.

A New Tourism Gateway For Northern Philippines

As Blue Sky Theme Park opens and BYB Metro continues its rise, Bayambang Pangasinan emerges as a new tourism gateway in northern Philippines. The combination of a modern amusement park, a large-scale township, and a nationally known pilgrimage site gives the town a distinct profile in the competitive domestic tourism landscape. If visitor numbers continue to rise, Bayambang will likely be included in travel schedules around Luzon and encourage further investments in accommodation, transport links, and tour services. In that sense, the first amusement park in Pangasinan is more than just a new attraction; it is a strategic tourism and economic project able to reshape the way this part of the Philippines contributes to the country’s evolving travel story.
