Published on March 13, 2025

Beaches Resorts has unveiled a massive US $1 billion expansion plan, set to double its presence in the next five years and further solidify its status as the leading family all-inclusive vacation brand.

This exciting announcement was made by Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Beaches Resorts, at the global launch event “Made of Caribbean” in New York City. Stewart revealed new destinations for the Beaches brand, including the debut of a new Beaches resort in Barbados, plans for a Beaches resort in Exuma, The Bahamas, and the upcoming Beaches Runaway Bay in Jamaica. Guests were also treated to a sneak peek of the Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks and Caicos.

Founded in 1997, Beaches Resorts has grown from its two original locations in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos to become a leading family-friendly counterpart to Sandals Resorts. The brand has continually evolved, introducing all-inclusive experiences designed for families, complete with exclusive amenities like Caribbean Adventures with Sesame Street®, Kids Camps, massive waterparks, and a groundbreaking Autism Program certified by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).

“As a family from the Caribbean, we have a deep love for our islands, and it’s incredibly gratifying to draw inspiration from our guests,” said Stewart. “Our growth strategy is rooted in meeting their wants, with the importance of family time being at the core of our brand’s DNA. We know that now, more than ever, families are prioritizing connection and seeking enriching, multigenerational vacations. We are committed to not only meeting this demand but going above and beyond to wow them with new product offerings and provide unforgettable shared experiences.”

Beaches Resorts Expands to Barbados

In a major move, Beaches Resorts will make its debut in Barbados, joining its sister properties Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados. Scheduled to break ground in late 2025, the new Beaches Barbados will feature 600 rooms, ranging from king suites and two-queen designs to expansive, nearly 3,000-square-foot four-bedroom suites with private oceanfront balconies. The resort will feature “Bajan Style” design, a sophisticated interpretation of Caribbean Georgian architecture. A highlight will be the resort’s “Main Street” – a lively resort center offering dining, shopping, and entertainment options, including family zones with outdoor performance stages, a sports bar, and an arcade.

Beaches Resorts Arrives in The Bahamas

Beaches Exuma will mark the brand’s first venture into The Bahamas, located on 500 acres in the Out Islands. Collaborating with the Bahamian Government, the property will undergo a transformation from Sandals Emerald Bay into Beaches Exuma, which will include 249 rooms reconfigured into a mix of accommodations, including multi-bedroom villa suites. The resort will offer 12 restaurants, a Kids Camp, a splash park, a full-service Red Lane Spa, and the signature Sesame Street® partnership. Guests will also enjoy complimentary green fees at the nearby Greg Norman-designed 18-hole Emerald Bay Golf Course, along with the pristine crystalline waters of Exuma as the main attraction.

Beaches Runaway Bay Resort to Open in Jamaica

Located between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay on Jamaica’s North Coast, Beaches Runaway Bay will feature approximately 400 expansive suites and villas, designed with extended families in mind. The resort will boast wellness areas, new activities such as skateboarding, bike trails, and a climbable treehouse, plus access to Runaway Bay Golf Club, home to an 18-hole championship golf course. Organic farm-to-table dining will be featured, complementing the resort’s family-friendly offerings.

Treasure Beach Village Now Open for Reservations at Beaches Turks and Caicos

Beaches Resorts is expanding its Turks and Caicos property with the addition of Treasure Beach Village, bringing the total number of rooms at Beaches Turks and Caicos to 858 across six villages. Treasure Beach Village will introduce 101 new suites, including large four-bedroom villas along the beach, welcoming up to 10 guests and offering stunning views of Grace Bay. The village will feature a new food hall with an international variety of dining options, as well as the popular Butch’s Island Chophouse. Reservations are now being accepted for this highly anticipated addition.

These new developments come after the recent expansion at Beaches Negril, which introduced the three-story Firesky Reserve Villas designed for large families, as well as the Eventide Penthouse Collection, which accommodates up to 18 guests and offers access to a rooftop terrace with sweeping views.
