Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has decided to add luxurious and expedition-style cruises to their 2027-28 program. These new cruises will travel to some of the world’s most remote locations. There will also be inaugural cruise routes for the Indian Ocean, the Philippines, Western Australia, the Great Lakes, and the West Coast of the United States. With these new routes, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will be able to reach over 500 ports globally on an annual basis.

There will be five ships used for the new routes: Europa, Europa 2, and the three Hanseatic ships. The new cruises will offer exclusive experiences and cultural expeditions to new ports that are not accessible through other travel routes.

Europa Expands Americas And Asia Exploration With Landmark Voyages

The luxury cruise ship Europa will begin the 2027-28 season with a major South American and North American journey. In February 2027, the vessel will operate a 29-day voyage connecting Valparaiso in Chile with San Francisco in the United States.

The route will cross eight countries and combine diverse landscapes, cultures and coastal destinations across South, Central and North America. The itinerary will include destinations in Peru, Costa Rica and other regional locations before reaching California and sailing beneath the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

The voyage is scheduled from February 17 to March 18, 2027, with fares starting from €12,792 per person.

Europa will also introduce its first detailed exploration of the Philippines in 2028. The ship will operate two consecutive cruises highlighting the islands’ natural landscapes, historic sites and maritime heritage.

Another new Asia itinerary will connect Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong from February 14 to March 1, 2028. The 16-day journey will offer travellers an opportunity to experience Southeast Asia’s coastal destinations, with prices beginning at €8,220 per person.

Europa 2 Adds Pacific Discoveries And Costa Rica Coastal Adventures

Europa 2 will expand its Pacific Ocean programme with a new itinerary visiting Papua New Guinea and Palau for the first time. The route will focus on remote island destinations known for marine biodiversity, cultural traditions and untouched natural environments.

The ship will also introduce a new Costa Rica Pacific coast voyage featuring first-time visits to Isla Tortuga and Puerto Jiménez. These destinations will provide access to tropical ecosystems, wildlife areas and coastal attractions.

The Pacific itinerary from Lautoka, Fiji, to Hong Kong will operate from April 7 to April 29, 2027. The 22-day voyage will be available from €9,990 per person.

A separate roundtrip Panama City cruise is planned for January 2028, offering a 13-day journey from €9,770 per person.

Hanseatic Nature Brings First Indian Ocean Expedition Season

A major highlight of the expedition programme will be the first-ever winter season in the Indian Ocean for Hanseatic Nature. The ship will explore destinations including Madagascar, Seychelles and Mauritius during the 2027-28 winter period.

The new expedition programme will provide access to islands known for rare wildlife, volcanic landscapes, coral ecosystems and unique cultural experiences.

One featured journey will travel from Mauritius to Mahé in the Seychelles from January 3 to January 15, 2028. The 12-day expedition will begin at €7,970 per person.

Hanseatic Nature will also introduce shorter Antarctic voyages in early 2028. Three new 14-day expeditions will focus entirely on South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula, creating a more compact option for travellers seeking an Antarctic adventure.

Hanseatic Inspiration Creates Historic Great Lakes And St. Lawrence River Cruise

Hanseatic Inspiration will offer a unique North American expedition in summer 2027 by becoming the only cruise ship to combine all five Great Lakes with the St. Lawrence River on one voyage.

The journey will connect major freshwater regions across Canada and the United States, offering passengers access to landscapes, ports and communities rarely included in large-scale cruise programmes.

The Halifax to Milwaukee expedition will operate from September 10 to October 1, 2027. The 21-day voyage will start from €15,490 per person.

The ship will also operate an Antarctic expedition from Ushuaia in February 2028. The 14-day roundtrip journey will begin at €14,220 per person.

Hanseatic Spirit Reveals Western Australia Kimberley Expedition

Hanseatic Spirit will introduce a new expedition through Australia’s remote Kimberley region in May 2028. The voyage will explore one of the country’s most dramatic wilderness areas, featuring sandstone formations, waterfalls, Indigenous rock art and diverse wildlife.

The roundtrip Darwin expedition will operate from May 4 to May 22, 2028. The 18-day adventure will be available from €13,240 per person.

The Kimberley region is recognised for its remote landscapes and cultural importance, making it a major attraction for expedition travellers seeking nature-based experiences.
